Your Sam Houston Electric Cooperative Board of Directors election ballot will arrive in your mailbox or inbox soon, or you may have already received it.
The election opens May 11, and voting in the election will be easier this year. Sam Houston Electric Cooperative has partnered with Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS) to administer the 2020 election.
You have four ways to vote this year:
- You can mail in the ballot that was sent to the address listed on your membership.
- You can visit the online ballot using the website and login credentials provided in the ballot mailed to your membership.
- You can log into your mySamHouston account, and click on the "Vote Now" button at the top right side of your computer's screen.
- If you have linked your email address to your Sam Houston EC account, you also will receive voting instructions by email from firstname.lastname@example.org. You can click the link in the email to visit your unique ballot.
While there are four ways to submit your ballot in the election, only the first vote received by SBS for each membership will be recorded if multiple attempts to vote are made.
Sam Houston EC Directors are elected "at large," which means all members can vote for the representatives in all districts, regardless of the district you live in.
Annual Meeting is June 9
After you vote, be sure to mark your calendar for our Annual Meeting of Members on Tuesday, June 9 at 1:30 p.m.
Each member who submits their ballot will be entered into a prize drawing at the Annual Meeting. Cast your vote by June 2 to be eligible for additional prize drawings!
Both online and mail-in votes will be eligible for prize drawings at the Annual Meeting of Members on June 9. Members do not need to be present to win prizes from the ballot drawings.
Due to ongoing concerns with COVID-19 and in accordance with state and federal recommendations, Sam Houston EC’s annual meeting will be conducted online this year. Members will need to have a mySamHouston account to join the meeting. Detailed instructions will be posted soon to SamHouston.net.
