Planning for Today and Tomorrow
LIBERTY July 5, 2019 - County Commissioners are grappling with overcrowding conditions in county facilities. To meet both current and future needs Commissioners have hired an Austin Architecture firm to plan new county facilities. Included in the planning is a new Sheriff’s Office to house the Sheriff’s Department, DPS and Emergency Management departments to be located inside the city limits on Liberty along SH 146 on the north side of town. Also included is a judicial center consisting of a multi-story building and adjacent parking structure on the property where the old jail is currently located and a new JP Office in Moss Hill. The idea is to vacate the curette Liberty County Courthouse so that it can be remodeled and resorted to its original 1930’s condition. |
