Entergy Powers Texas Communities with $18,000 in grants

THE WOODLANDS June 27, 2019 - When residents in the Beaumont area can’t make it to the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, a grant from the Entergy Charitable Foundation has made it possible to take the museum to them. Art-To-Go is a mobile outreach program that allows the arts museum to provide education and creative expression in the visual arts to remote and under-served audiences.

Art-To-Go is one among three non-profit community partners that were recipients of more than $18,000 awarded by shareholders through the Entergy Charitable Foundation’s first-round of grants in 2019.

“Entergy strives to contribute to a society that is healthy, educated, environmentally safe and productive. With these grants we are powering life by supporting vital programs and services in our communities that otherwise might not be available,” said Paula Odom, senior customer service specialist for Entergy Texas, Inc. “Thanks to our outstanding network of nonprofit community partners, we are able to continue making a positive impact on our customers and communities.”

The foundation’s focus areas of funding are education and workforce development, poverty solutions and environmental programs. Besides the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Entergy Texas’ first-round grant recipients went to the Education for Tomorrow Alliance in Conroe and Mission Northeast, Inc., in New Caney. A complete list of 2019 first-round grant awards can be found here.
