1 Arrest after Late Night Shots Fired Call

LIBERTY April 24, 2019 - Liberty Police arrest a Liberty man on multiple charges after late night reports of shots being fired.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on 4/23/2019 Liberty Police responded to the area around Liberty City Hall where neighbors called reporting they heard shots being fired and two vehicles were speeding off.  As Liberty PD Officers responded to the area they received another phone call from alleged victim in the vehicle indicating that he had been shot at.  As the Officers continued their search north on Travis they located a suspect vehicle around Magnolia and Browning.

After the stop the driver was identified as 31 year old Tyree Patterson of Liberty.  Once the complainants were located the investigation determined that Patterson had stopped the victims car and assaulted one of the occupants.  After that incident a short time later the vehicle again came in contact with Patterson’s vehicle.  It was at that point that the victim’s reported being shot at.

Tyree Patterson was arrested on three charges.  1. Possession of Controlled Substance in Drug Free zone a 3rd Degree Felony, 2. Possession of Marijuana in Drug Free Zone, 3. Assault Causing Bodily Injury.  These two charges are Class A Misdemeanors.  Patterson remains in the Liberty County Jail.

Liberty Police are still searching the extended area looking for other evidence to support the shooting charge.  Other charges are expected.
