Trinity River Update

LIBERTY, March 1, 2018 - Quick update on the Trinity River. The release at the Livingston Dam remains at 30,600 cubic feet per second. Romayor gauge has fallen to 27.44 (well below flood stage) , Liberty gauge is slowly falling at 26.89 (minor flood stage ) and Moss Bluff gauge is continuing to show a rise, currently at 12.79 ( minor flood stage).

As long as the release remains high at the dam, the Trinity River will remain at or just below flood stage at Liberty and Moss Bluff. There is a great deal of water coming downstream from the Dallas area, however,if we do not see heavy rainfall in the river basin over the next several days, the upstream water should not cause us any great concern.

Reminder, we have placed a link to the National Weather Service Advanced Hydrologic Predictions Service on our Liberty County government page, allowing you to get up to date information on river conditions at any time.

We will monitor conditions and update this page as warranted and other than the water covering some flood plain subdivision entry roads, there are no concerns for residential flooding at this time.
