Man Arrested for Harassment

LIBERTY, February 13, 2018 - On February 3, 2018 Officers were dispatched to a physical disturbance involving two males and one female.

Upon arrival Officers were informed the parties were separated and left location. Officer arrived to the area and found a truck stopped in the roadway occupied by a White male, and a passenger car pulled over on the shoulder occupied by a White female. The subjects were reportedly involved in the incident.

Officers were familiar with both subjects due to the female subject recently filling harassment charges against the male subject. The two subjects recently separated from a dating relationship.

The female reported the male to have been near her residence as she drove past to go to work the male stood in the roadway blocking her from being able to drive past. The male got into a physical altercation with a neighbor.

When the female attempted to leave the male drove away and attempted to block the female subject's lane of travel on the road using his vehicle. The male subject has been notified by both the victim and Liberty PD Officers several times to no longer make contact with the female subject by any means. The female previously requested Officers to patrol by her residence watching out for the male subject in fear of him going to her residence.

The female reported to be in fear for her life. The female feels harassed, annoyed and alarmed by the male subjects actions. The male, identified as Joseph Edward Pitts II age 37 of Atascocita, was taken into custody for stalking and transported to Liberty County jail.
