Woman Arrested for Third DWI

LIBERTY April 18, 2018 ⎯ On March 31, 2018, an Officer with the City of Liberty Police Department was patrolling the 3000 block of N Main. The Officer observed stopped traffic in the northbound lanes. The Officer observed red and blue emergency lights in the 3600 block of N Main. The Officer approached with his emergency lights on and checked out with a Liberty County Sheriffs sergeant.

The sergeant was on a traffic stop was unsure why traffic was stopped. The Officer then attempted to get traffic moving. The Officer observed a grey Ford pick up truck stopped in the northbound lane of travel. A female was in the vehicle with a pet dog.

The Officer made contact with the female driver and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her person. The Officer had the driver step out. The Officer observed the driver to have very poor balance, slurred speech, and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. A small open container was observed in the center console. The Officer had to assist the driver to the front of his patrol unit so she would not fall on N. Main St. The Officer then cleared the roadway so traffic could continue.

The driver refused any sobriety test. The driver, identified as Priscilla Jane McCreight age 53, was then taken into custody. The driver agreed to provide a breath sample, then refused. The Officer procured a blood search warrant.

The blood search warrant was executed. The driver was then booked into the Liberty County Jail without incident.

Bonf was set at $30,000 dollars.
