Liberty Man Arrested for Burglary of a Habitation

LIBERTY September 26, 2018 - On 09/23/2018 around 2:45 AM, Officers were contacted by a complainant who advised he observed a male subject under his carport without his permission.

The complainant provided Officers with video footage where Officers observed a male subject with no shirt, shorts, cowboy boots and a back pack on a bicycle was observed looking under his carport. The complainant advised Officers he believed his camera system had been taken. The complainant provided a picture of the camera.

While checking the area Officers observed a male subject on a bicycle matching the description of the male in the video footage in the 1900 block of Edgewood. Officers then made contact with the male subject. The male subject then consented to a search.

While Officers were searching his back pack a camera matching the description the complainant provided was located. Other items were also observed. While conducting the
investigation Officers made contact with the complainant who advised the other items also belonged to him.

The male subject, identified as Joseph Michael Martinez age 31 of Sue Street in Liberty,  was then placed in custody and transported to Liberty County Jail for Burglary of a Habitation
