LIBERTY, February 7, 2018 -
Shell Pipeline Company has scheduled a routine hydrostatic test of the Zydeco Pipeline that runs from Houston to Houma, Louisiana.
This test should begin on February 9th , with testing and planned maintenance completed by the end of February.
Dyed green water will be placed into the pipeline and the pipeline will be pressurized.
Pressure is then held on the line in order to verify the strength of the pipeline.
There should be no negative impacts during this test, however, anyone with questions or concerns can call the Shell Pipeline control center at 1-800-922-3459.
The pipeline is located in far southern Liberty County, runs east to west, and enters the county well south of Hwy 90 just east of Hwy 1409. The pipeline crosses the Trinity River south of Hwy 90 and remains just a few miles inside Liberty County's southern border as it crosses Hwy 563 and Hwy 61, before continuing east into Jefferson County .
