Man Arrested at Tractor Supply

LIBERTY May 30, 2018 ⎯ On 5/25/2018 around 10:01 AM, an Officer with the City of Liberty Police Department was flagged down by a passerby who witnessed a W/M subject stumbling in the Tractor Supply parking lot.

The Officer conducted a welfare check on the W/M subject and detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. The Officer also noticed the W/M subject had an alcoholic beverage in his hand. The Officer performed HGN (horizontal gaze nystagmus test) on the W/M subject.

Due to the Defendant not having the normal use of his faculties and having access to endangering the public and was believed to be a danger to himself and others.

The W/M subject, identified as Thomas Leeland Baty age 47 of Liberty, was then arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
