Liberty Man Charged in Drug Case

LIBERTY, November 17, 2017 - On November 6, 2017, Officers with the Liberty Police Department received a tip that a blue car with Louisiana license plates was carrying a large amount of narcotics.
An Officer located the suspected vehicle and observed the vehicle making a traffic violation. The vehicle was then stopped and the driver was directed out of the vehicle.

While making contact with the driver the Officer noticed that the driver was attempting to hide the contents of a container. The driver was trying to pour out a liquid so the Officer could not see. The Officer then looked in the container and noticed a plastic bag containing various narcotics.

The driver, identified as Donald Ray Redmond, Jr. age 46 of Magnolia Street in Liberty, then attempted to flee from Officers but was caught after a short foot pursuit. The driver was then transported to the Liberty County Jail charged with 2 counts of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence and Evading Arrest.
