Repeat Offender Arrested in LIberty

LIBERTY, June 9, 2017 - On June 1, 2017 around 10:12 AM, an Officer with the City of Liberty Police Department, was patrolling the 2300 block of Jefferson Dr.

The Officer observed a maroon passenger car that was traveling westbound on Jefferson Dr. The Officer observed the vehicle to have expired registration. The Officer effected a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 1800 block of N San Jacinto. The Officer made contact with the driver.

A driver's license check showed the driver identified as Felishia Maria Peeler age 35 of Daisetta, had a not eligible license. The driver also held previous convictions. The Officer then placed Peeler into custody for driving while license invalid.

Upon inventorying the vehicle, a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine, was observed to be in the driver seat. Several shards of methamphetamine crystals were collected.

A field test of the substance showed positive for methamphetamine.

Peeler was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to the Liberty County Jail.

Bond was set at $10,000 dollars. Peeler has an extensive criminal history in Liberty County.
