Drugs Found During Traffic Stop

LIBERTY, July 14, 2017 - On July 19, 2017 around 10:38 AM, Officers observed a blue Dodge Pickup fail to stop at red light in the 3600 block on Hwy 90 headed Westbound.
Officers conducted a traffic stop at the 2800 block of Hwy 90. Officers made contact with the driver black male and the passenger a White female. Officers asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and was given a field sobriety test. The driver of the vehicle admitted that there was marijuana on the floor board and showed Officers. Officers then conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and found a crystal like substance in the passenger’s purse. Officers then took the passenger, identified as Ariana Michelle Nicole Medina age 22 of Dayton, into custody for possession of a controlled substance PG l<lG. Officers then transported Medina to the Liberty County Jail for processing.

The weight of the controlled substance was O.Og, however it was a usable amount. The field test showed to be positive for methamphetamine.
