Baytown Man Arrested for DWI

LIBERTY, May 17, 2017 - On May 6, 2017 around 11:00 PM, officers with the Liberty Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving in the center median with the right turn signal activated and then failing to signal for a left turn.

Upon making contact with the driver, officers noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle.

Officers asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and noticed his eyes were blood shot and glossy, and that he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person.

The subject identified as Jamie Lenn Johnson age 24 of Baytown, consented to a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. The subject did poorly on all tests.

Johnson was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.  He was transported to the Liberty County Jail.

Once at the Jail Johnson provided a breath specimen. The specimen showed to be over 0.15.

Johnson was released to Liberty County Jail staff.

Bond was set at $4,500 dollars.
