Liberty Man Arrested for Possesssion of Methamphetamine

LIBERTY, September 18, 2017 - On September 4, 2017, an Officer with the Liberty Police Department was dispatched to local business on North Main in Liberty in reference to possible drug actively involving a red in color Ford Taurus passenger car.
Upon the Officer arriving on scene observed the said vehicle enter into the parking lot from the roadway. When the vehicle passed the Officer, he observed the passenger identified as a white male pushing something under the passenger seat. The Officer then observed the same vehicle have an expired temporary license plate. The Officer then observed the same subject in the passenger seat attempt to exit the vehicle. The Officer then detained the subject due to him trying to leave scene. The Officer then obtained consent from the driver/owner of the vehicle to search the vehicle.

The Officer then located a Marlboro cigarette box under the passenger seat where the subject was seated. The Officer then asked the subject if the cigarette box belonged to him. The subject stated yes to the Officer. The Officer then observed inside the cigarette box a clear plastic bag containing a crystal like substance believed to Methamphetamine and a rolled up $20 dollar bill.

The Officer then placed Cody Wayne Jackson age 26 of Hull, into custody and transported him to the Liberty County Jail for the Possession of a Controlled Substance.
