Man Found Asleep in Vehicle

LIBERTY, August 4, 2017 - On July 20, 2017 at approximately 1:00 AM an Officer with The City of Liberty Police Department was patrolling a local highway located in Liberty, Texas. The Officer observed a vehicle with its running lights on at a local motel. The Officer called another Officer for assistance in approaching the vehicle to check the welfare of the occupants inside the vehicle.
The Officer observed a male subject, identified as Lenard Hebert III age 28 of Liberty, to appear asleep in the driver seat of the vehicle with the engine on and the vehicle in drive.

The Officer observed a brown cigar in the subject’s hand along with a lighter. The Officer knocked on the window and the subject awoke and opened the driver door. The subject was read his Miranda rights and admitted that the cigar contained Kush. The Kush was observed to be a usable amount. The subject was placed into custody for the possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Liberty County Jail for processing. Hebert’s bond was set at $500 dollars.
