Man Arrested at City Library

LIBERTY, April 20, 2017 - On April 18, 2017 around 6:05 PM, Officers with the Liberty Police Department were called to a possible intoxicated subject at the city library. As Officers approached they observed a vehicle matching the description given by the caller. As Officer approached the vehicle they noticed a male subject asleep in the driver seat. Officers knocked on the window and the subject did not respond.

The Officer then opened the driver's door and shook the subject, identified as Jonathan Clifford Fisher age 32 of Webster Street in Liberty. The subject then woke up and appeared to be incoherent and had pinpoint pupils. The subject was then directed to exit the vehicle and step to the back of the vehicle. The Officer then attempted to administer a field sobriety test but the subject was too unsteady on his feet to perform a test.

Due to the subject not having the normal use of his faculties the subject posed a danger to himself or others if left alone. The subject was then arrested for Public Intoxication and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
