Local Residents to Speak in Dayton

DAYTON, June 16, 2017 - The Dayton Historical Society will meet Monday, June 26, 6:00 p.m., at Parker Hall, located behind Walgreens.

The program will be given by two well know local citizens: Larry Harris and Jim Sterling. They will relate the backgrounds and community achievements of their fathers, both of whom served as Mayor of Dayton and were active for many years in DVFD and other local organizations. They were both important to the fabric of Dayton’s growth and evolvement for decades. Attendees are sure to hear anecdotes related to both men.

The Libertad Chapter of DAR represented by Susan Simmons will present two new flags - the US and Texas- to the Society in a short dedication ceremony prior to the program. The public is invited to attend.
