Aggravated Sexual Assault in Mont Belvieu

MONT BELVIEU, June 14, 2017 - On Sunday, May 21, 2017 at approximately 10am, Mont Belvieu Police Department Communications Office was notified that a female had been found in the 13,000 block of SH 146, stating that she had been sexually assaulted and ran over by a vehicle. 

Officers responded to the scene to find an injured 40 year old Channelview area female, who was treated and later transported to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston by Mont Belvieu EMS. 

Upon investigation, it was learned that the suspect, identified as MANUEL GERMAN CANTU, originally from Los Fresno, Texas, was in the area working as a contractor in a local chemical plant.  With assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Office in Galveston, Cantu was located On June 13th at a Baytown motel and was taken into custody.  He has been charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Robbery.  Cantu’s total bond amount was set at $120,000.
