Monique McDuffie-Brooks filed as a Democratic candidate for Justice of the Peace for Precinct 6
CLEVELAND, December 9, 2017 - Liberty County Democratic Party Chair Michael Mark is pleased to announce that Monique McDuffie-Brooks, 52, of Cleveland, Texas has filed as a Democratic candidate for Justice of the Peace for Precinct 6 in Cleveland, Texas.

Monique McDuffie-Brooks is married to Damon Brooks and is a mother of two and a grandmother of seven. She has served as mayor of Cleveland, Texas from 2003-2006. She has also worked as a nurse for twenty-three years and completed the Liberty County Sheriff’s Academy in October of this year. She is the daughter of Odell and Cora McDuffie and Linda McGowan McDuffie. Her plans are to improve the efficiency of and access to the justice of the peace court. McDuffie-Brooks stated, “I believe that I am capable of fulfilling the duties of justice of the peace. My career as a nurse, my training as a law enforcement officer, and my experience as a former mayor have prepared me to serve the citizens of precinct 6 in Cleveland and administer justice in a fair and equitable manner.”
