Debris Removal Begins Soon

LIBERTY, September 8, 2017 - The water has now receded in all portions of the county as of yesterday, and assessments of the total debris amounts is being conducted .

There are a few subdivisions along the Trinity that are hard to access, but hopefully we can get a better idea of the total debris field in those areas soon.

Debris removal is to be discussed during the Tuesday September 12th Commissioners Court meeting.

This will be a lengthy recovery process and I do not visualize debris issues being addressed as far as pick up, in the unincorporated areas of the county, for at least a week or two.

I have been ask if residents can , at their own expense, contact a private service and have their debris removed, and the answer for that is yes.

I have also been ask if insurance would cover the cost of their debris removal and I can only say that you should contact your insurance company for guidance.

Bottom line here is that it will likely be a couple of weeks before the process to remove debris gets fully underway.
