Baytown Man Arrested for PI in Travis Park

LIBERTY, June 11, 2017 - On June 1, 2017 around 2:06 AM, an Officer with the Liberty PD was dispatched to the corner of Lakeside Dr and Daniels St in Liberty TX in reference to a vehicle in a ditch.

Upon the Officer arriving on scene he observed a green in color Ford Mustang stuck in a ditch. When the Officer was exiting his patrol car he observed a white male who was later identified approach the Officer and state "take me to jail I had too much to drink tonight".

The Officer then asked the subject, identified as Ryan W. Baker age 23 of Baytown, how much he had to drink tonight. The Officer stated six beers approximately 3 hours prior to the encounter. The Officer could detect a strong odor of alcohol coming from Baker. The Officer then administer Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test (HGN) on the subject in which the Officer observed Nystagmus in the subjects eyes.

The Officer also administered an alphabet test on Baker in which he failed. The Officer then placed  Baker into custody for public intoxication and was transported to the Liberty County Jail.

Baker’s Bond was set at $500 dollars.
