LIBERTY, April 10, 2016 - A citizen sent in the following photo showing a Sheriff’s Department Tahoe parked in a handicapped space at our local Whataburger. The vehicle was parked there while the family ate dinner which was about 40 minutes with its’ engine running and Deputies enjoyed dinner inside.

It is not known how many handicapped Deputies are employed at the Sheriff’s Office by Sheriff Bobby Rader.

LIBERTY, March 15, 2016 - The Liberty County Office of Emergency management is requesting anyone that suffered residential or business damage from the heavy rain and flood event that began last week and continues today, please contact our office at 936-334-3219 and report your damage. We have filed a local disaster declaration,however, it is uncertain if we will qualify for any outside assistance until we know the total extent of damages. Early reports indicate that 12 or so mobile homes located along the San Jacinto River near Plum Grove sustained heavy damage, with 2+ feet of water getting inside the homes. Please advise your friends and neighbors who sustained damage to give us a call so that we can accurately report our damages to state and federal officials.
